Love is a four-letter word

My poetry, as promised.

Wrote this while I was having some troubles with a friend and the unexpected advice I heard in prayer, was to continue to love. Needless to say, it was tough

                                                                                Love is a four-letter word

broken heart

Roses are full of  Thorns

The violets have all Wilted

Clouds aren’t really soft and fluffy

They’ve really just been quilted.

The tooth fairy’s a pervert

The Easter bunny’s a joke

And if Santa Claus tried to climb a chimney

He’d go up in smokes

The only reason its sunny

Is cos somewhere else is cold

You may be growing now

But your body’s growing Old

People love to make promises

But promises wear thin

Hearts are broken

Tears are shed

No-one ever wins.

Count yourselves lucky, that you get the reprieve

I’ve seen it all and yet,

I still have to believe.
